Welcome to Lutheran Campus Ministry to UW-Stout!

Our mission at Lutheran Campus Ministry (LCM) is “inviting students to put their faith into action”.  We offer an inviting and open place for students to express their faith and explore what it means to be part of a larger Christian community.  LCM is a welcoming community in Christ that offers a safe place for all, regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, faith tradition, or faith journey.  Jesus taught us to love and serve one another and we at LCM want to live out that mission.

There are numerous ways in which students can be a part of LCM, including: Weekly meals and faith discussions, community service events, leadership retreats, spring break trips, worship opportunities with local churches, bible study, and much more!

All are welcome!  We would love for you to join us!

Lutheran Campus Ministry to UW-Stout is a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) organization recognized through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

First, I want to begin by sharing my feeling of immense gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Lutheran Campus Ministry over the past almost 7 years. This ministry is something incredibly special and has given me the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing students, community members and colleagues during my time in this role.

As I am nearing the end of my journey in seminary, it is with mixed emotions that I share with you all that I will be transitioning out of my role as the Director of Lutheran Campus Ministry at UW-Stout and moving into the Internship portion of my education. I will be beginning my internship in August 2021 and will be fully transitioned out of this role by September 2021 to ensure training time and handing over the ropes to the new Director.

While I and many of you have known of this intention and plan since I began in seminary, it is hard to believe that the day has finally come when I write this message to you all. I am so incredibly thankful for the ways that so many of you have supported Lutheran Campus Ministry and invited these students into your faith families and encouraged them to experience God’s love in the Menomonie community and beyond. I am thankful for the love you have shown to me, inviting me into your families as well, and working together to share the love of God with those who need it most.

The future of this ministry is bright, and God’s light and love will continue to shine through for many years to come. God is always at work in this ministry, shaping new leaders of the church and inspiring them to lead lives seeking justice, peace, welcome and love in our world.

An official job posting will come in the following days, so if you know of someone who would be a great fit for this position, or would like to share the post to help spread the word, we would greatly appreciate it to help find a new minister for this role.

God’s peace and blessings be with you all.

With gratitude-

Katie Wagner, LCM Director
